What you should know to keep your baby’s food safe PDF Print E-mail

Babies are more vulnerable to illness because their immune system is not as developed as adults. That is why you should be careful while looking after a baby in general and take extra care while preparing their food.

First of all, make sure that you always wash your hands before preparing and handling your baby’s food. You also have to maintain a very clean kitchen, and wipe the baby’s high chair before and after every meal.

You should always wash all bottles and cutlery in soap and hot water, and it is highly recommended that you use a sterilizing solution or a steam sterilizer.

Make sure you only use cooled boiled water for preparing your baby’s food or milk. Keep the boiled water in a clean container and well covered while you wait for it to cool.

When cooking your baby food, let the food get cooked thoroughly until it is piping hot, and then make sure that it cools quickly, as bacteria starts to grow back into the food if it is left lying around after it cools.

When your baby is old enough to eat eggs, make sure that you cook the eggs until both the white and yolk are hard.
