Table Centerpieces PDF Print E-mail

Who said centerpieces have to be expensive or done at a flower shop? We will give you some tips and a few ideas on how to do simple, but elegant centerpieces with inexpensive material, or that you might even have at home.
The golden rule in table decorations or centerpieces is that the arrangement has to be short in height so that it doesn’t block the guests from each other, and in our opinion less is more!

So here are a few tips to keep in mind for you next dinner or lunch party:
1.For floral or rose centerpieces make sure you leave enough stem so that the bud sits nicely on top of the rim of the vase.
2.Don’t be afraid to use flowers from your own garden.
3.Flowers with a strong scent are not such a good idea as it may over throw the aroma of the food, plus you might have an allergic guest on the table without u knowing.
4.Flowers and candles mix well together, but not if young children are on the table.
5.Simple is good.
6.No one said it has to be flowers and candles only, get creative; add fruits or vegetables, sea shells and small stones. Don’t limit yourself with vases, use baskets and plates.
7.Select a centerpiece that matches the theme of your party, for a summer dinner party go with seasonal colorful flowers, or a romantic dinner consider using red roses and candles.

Centerpiece ideas:
1.Use a small rounded or squared vase, fill one third of it with sea shells, sand or small stones. Then place a candle stick making sure it is stable. Afterwards add in some water and a couple of drops of food color.
2.Use a wide glass plate, fill it with water and add in floating candles and flowers. Remember nothing with a strong scent.
3.Use a mirror and on top of them place candles in 3 to 5 different sizes and/or shapes, the reflection of the candles will give a glowing effect.
4.Use a rounded or squared vase, cut all the roses at the same length as the rim of the vase. Fill the vase with water and then place the roses next to each other.
5.Use a flat plate, fill it with gel or glass beans, or small colored stones, and then randomly place small candles in the plate. You can add in flower petals or buds depending on the size of the plate.
6.Use an extra table mat or cloth napkin and place it in the middle of the table. Place several glass candles, and spread flower petals around. You can replace the flowers with seashells.
